If the current education system, family values and the process of growing up is to be observed then we would realize that the majority of young ones in the lot are confused and are becoming ignorant, careless and aimless adults.
The education system today is deviating this generation to absolutism that critically opposes the idea of relativism. People are leading themselves into leisure seeking greed and differential thinking which is quite problematic. We fail to realize that the only thing that will ever improve the world stability is education.
The world needs to address the problems that matter, terrorism, climate change and raised rates of crime but we prefer talking about Prisma filter on Instagram. The world needs its youth’s attention towards the issues troubling the world.
Although I do agree that the youth is less homophobic, more liberal, more tolerant and far more sensible about issues regarding equality in the world. And they say politics consumes you but still a section of youth is trying to participate in it and change things for good.
Where this generation has witnessed a teenager like Malala Yousafzai, the youngest Nobel Prize laureate for working efficiently for education and women rights but on the other side, we also have people who consider sitting in front of a latest mobile by being a dog on Snapchat cool and more importantly logical.
This has become a generation of hookups. People don’t value relationships anymore. Family ties are losing accountability and love.
But I have always believed that our choices make us who we are and thus it is never too late to be what we might have been. Our future depends on how well we react to life and try being as much sensible as possible.
Let us all make education a priority and try to build a future that we can be proud of. Where social media is doing a great job in connecting people and spreading awareness but still somehow this digital age is ruining the mindset of youth.
Individuality is lost.
People are trying to imitate something where they don’t even fit in only to gain acceptance from the society. As society is living under the more ‘open-minded’ western influence, many teens are just blindly following trends, doing stuff that does not even interest them, placing peer pressure and the desire to fit in with their own moral values.
Drugs, cigarette smoking, hookah smoking and alcohol consumption are considered a must do for the youth to fit in the society, despite the harmful effects those practices have to offer.
