The Solitary Shore

Sometimes the best way to face a storm is to get into it and the best way to tackle fear is to embrace it.
Stretched, susceptible and serendipitous

The sea shore stood in solitude

The sailors struggled, sought shelter

Swart sky sold the thunder

The night sulked for anonymity

A hostile horizon awaited silence

The storm’s fury was unleashed

The drizzle descended, wild & dense

The stammering shore cried for solidarity

The voices echoed, engulfed lives

Why would she run into the storm?

Why would she leave the warmth of her hive?

Suffocating her vision, the dawn seemed unfamiliar

Longing to discover the unknown

She craved for anticipation

Certainty was no longer her best friend

Embracing the howling monsters of night

She befriended obscurity

Sight of the shattering shore enveloped her fears

In the broken storm, luminosity became her eclipse

With extinguished hopes, she chose to escape

Away from the vibrant hues & vivid moments

Locating rapture amidst destruction

Finding solace on the solitary shore.

I believe love, laughter and a thought spared for peace can overcome all the differences in the world.
